The Dark Burger

Well, look no further, backyard grills of America! Ana Kelly has whipped up an Asian inspired take on an American classic, the almighty Dark Burger. Featuring Balsamic Sweet Soy Seduction and an Asian Inspired Mustard Sauce, you (and your grill) are going to want it to be burger time, all the time.

Balsamic Sweet Soy Seduction

Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 sweet soy
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

Stir balsamic vinegar and sweet soy together in a small saucepan and place over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until the vinegar mixture has reduced to 1/3 cup, about 10-15 minutes. Set the balsamic reduction aside to cool.

May be stored in fridge for 3 months

Asian Inspired Mustard sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • pinch of 5 spice

Instructions

Burger Marinade

Ingredients

  • 2 Portobello mushroom cap, stem and gills finely chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 pound lean Angus ground beef, 90 to 93% lean
  • 4 ounces shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon sweet soy
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Chill for 15-20 min and serve.
